CRBLM Workshop on Rhythm Perception and Production

The CRBLM is pleased to announce the organization of a workshop on “Rhythm Perception and Production”, to be held at BRAMS, Université de Montréal, on Wednesday, November 28th, 2012, from 9am onwards. This event is free and open to the academic community. Keynote speaker, Jessica Grahn (Western University), will give a talk entitled “Neural investigations of rhythm perception”. Registration is mandatory.

9:30 – Virginia Penhune (Concordia University) - “Cortical and sub-cortical contributions to rhythm production”

10:15 – Jessica Phillips-Silver (BRAMS) – “Beat deafness: the first case, and comparisons with healthy beat finding in a normal sample”

11:30 – Manon Grube (Newcastle University) – “Auditory time and rhythm processing and their relationship to language skill:  the role of “the” beat”

12:30 – Lunch

2:00 – Data Blitz (12 min presentation/10 minutes questions)
