Prof. Peretz to give a Distinguished lecture at Concordia University on November 15th

Prof. Isabelle Peretz, BRAMS co-director, is to give a Distinguished Lecture on Thursday, November 15th at 7pm at the Music Department, Concordia University. The talk is entitled “Music, Emotions and the Brain”.

 Distinguished lecture prensetation: 

Cognitive neuropsychologist and professor of psychology at the Université de Montréal, Dr. Peretz is co-founder and co-director of BRAMS lab in Montreal. Dr. Peretz’s research focuses on the musical potential of ordinary people, its neural correlates, its heritability, and its specificity relative to language. She has published over 175 scientific papers on a variety of topics, from perception, memory, and emotions, to performance issues and amusia.

Dr. Peretz will share with us a variety of her observations and discoveries in the amazing world of music psychology and neuroscience, with an emphasis on the complex relationships between music and emotions.
