Le BRAMS est heureux d’annoncer que la Prof. Helga Rut (Université d’Islande) sera Chercheure invitée au BRAMS du début Août 2012 à la fin Juillet 2013. Durant son séjour au BRAMS, Prof. Gudmundsdottir collaborera avec Prof. Sandra Trehub sur un projet de recherche sur l’apprentissage des chansons dans l’enfance.
A PROPOS DE HELGA RUT GUDMUNDSDOTTIR
Helga Rut Gudmundsdottir is Assistant Professor at the University of Iceland School of Education since 2000. Helga founded the Iceland Center for Music Research in February 2011 together with 9 other institutions in Iceland. She is the chair of the center and has organized three conferences on music research since its founding.
Helga is on sabbatical leave during the academic year 2012-2013, working as a visiting scholar at the Brams laboratories in Montreal. Her area of research is within music education and music perception. She has conducted research in the area of children’s musical development, music perception and music reading skills. Recently she has studied musical development in infancy and the impact of parent infant music courses. Currently she is conducting a research study in Iceland on the effects of a special music-linguistic program on 3-year-olds’ pre-reading skills. At Brams Helga will collaborate with Sandra Trehub on a research project on song acquisition in infancy.
Helga graduated as a music teacher in 1992. She did her masters and PhD in music education at McGill University with Prof. Eugenia Costa-Giomi.
