Biography:
Michael I. Mandel received the B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in 2006 and 2009. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Machine Learning lab at the University of Montreal with Profs. Douglas Eck and Yoshua Bengio. His research uses machine learning to model sound perception and understanding and he has published on sound source separation, music similarity, and music recommendation.
