I am a psychology undergrad, member of Dr. Alexandre Lehmann’s laboratory. and I am also a member of the BRAMS IT support team.

As a Technical assistant, IT & Audio-Visual, my responsibililties consists of:

  • Assists the person responsible for for IT & Audio-Visual.
  • Resolves various technical problems.
  • Installs software.
  • Deploys new material.
  • Provides general technical assistance.

As a general rule, I am at the office on Fridays.

Following studies in computer science, Johanne has worked for many years in IT development, project management & administration, business needs analysis and also as a consultant for large companies and many other environments.

Prior to joining the BRAMS team, Johanne was an administrative coordinator for a FRQS Research Network for almost 7 years.

Within the BRAMS team, Johanne is responsible for all the administrative activities.

Responsible forElectroencephalography/ Event Related Potentials(EEG/ ERP), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Laboratories and Laboratory for electrophysiological measurements using Biopac equipment.

Services

  • Evaluates the needs for research projects and advises on experimental protocols.
  • Provides technical assistance with the design and setup of experiments.
  • Prepares user guides and trains users to general procedures.
  • Assesses research participants.
  • Helps with the assembly and the installation of the electrodes.
  • Identifies, corrects and solves technical problems concerning the recording.
  • Assists the experimenters providing technical support for all stages of the research from recording to data analysis.
  • Manages the bank of participants.
Bernard Bouchard, M.Mus.

Bernard Bouchard, M.Mus.

Bernard Bouchard started his musical training as a child. After receiving a Master’s degree in composition at Université de Montréal, he taught musical theory and harmony there from 1988 to 1998. In 1993, he joined Isabelle Peretz’s research lab on music cognition, position that he still holds at BRAMS.

 Services

  • Assesses needs, discusses developping research projects with the researchers and their teams, and gives advice on choice of equipment, configurations, software and appropriate methods. Researches and provides technical literature and references.
  • Composes, arranges, performs, records, edits and analyzes music and audio material for experimental purposes.
  • Writes guides and trains users on the appropriate procedures related to the operation of workstations and digital audio equipment.
  • Provides support to users on signal processing and software programming.
  • Ensures general information technology support.
