| Free

Michael Schober, Dean and Professor of Psychology, New School for Social Research, New York, USA, will give a lecture at BRAMS on March 11th, 2009 at 4pm entitled “Feelings of copresence and coordination accuracy in remote collaborative performance”. This event is jointly organized with CERNEC.

ABSTRACT

To what extent do physical and visual cues affect musical collaborators’ feelings of being together and the success of their joint performance? A study of 30 piano-and-saxophone jazz duos compares their coordinated performance and their feelings of copresence in the same physical space, in two separate spaces but connected via video and audio, and in two separate spaces connected via audio only.
