Politique d'attribution des bureaux

Approuvée par le comité exécutif le 4 février 2009

PRIORITY

Priority shall be given to Faculty who need an assigned desk at BRAMS to work on a regular basis (three days a week), as follow:

- BRAMS full member faculty

- BRAMS associate member faculty

- Visiting faculty

For BRAMS full and associate members, the desk is assigned for an unlimited period of time, unless otherwise requested. However, should the desk not be used on a regular basis, the faculty member may be asked to vacate his/her desk for other members (faculty or students) in need of desk space.

For visiting faculty, request for a desk should be made as soon as possible, specifying clearly the exact length of stay.

REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS & VISITING TRAINEES

Academic year (September – May)

Desks are allocated in early September for the full academic year (September – May).

To be entitled to an assigned desk in UdeM premises, students must:

- be a full-time graduate student or post-doctoral fellow

- be supervised by a member of BRAMS

- request a desk at the beginning of the academic year (or as soon as need arise thereafter).

- be present at BRAMS at least 3 days a week, for the full academic year

Note that no desks will be allocated to undergraduate students. However, they can use the unassigned desks (first come, first serve basis).

Attention: Request shall be made for each academic year; desk assignment is not automatically renewed.

One desk per office shall remain unassigned at all times, to allow students with no assigned space to come and work at BRAMS when need arise (first come, first serve basis).

Should a student to which a desk has been allocated for the academic year realise that he won’t need his desk for several weeks in a row, he/she should inform administration as soon as possible. His/her desk may have to be cleared for the length of his/her absence to allow other students to use it on a daily basis. His/her desk may not be officially re-assigned to another student.

A desk which has been allocated to a student, but which is not used on a regular basis (three days a week) may be re-assigned to another student.

Summer period (May – August) & Internships

Students who have been allocated desks for the full academic year may keep their desk for the summer period, if they need it at least 3 days a week for the full summer period. If not, they may be asked to vacate the desk to allow other students to use it.

To be entitled to an assigned desk in UdeM premises for the summer period (or for a limited period of time during the year), students must:

- be full-time graduate student or intern, or post-doctoral fellow

- be supervised during their stay by a member of BRAMS

- request a desk as soon as they receive confirmation of their internship (or as soon as need arise during the year)

- be present at BRAMS at least 3 days a week for the summer (or their length of stay)

Priority will be given to post-doctoral fellows.
